OBSERVED — An elderly waitress without the strength to lift the plates off her tray to place in front of her customers. Customers happy to do it for her. They leave a tip.

OBSERVED — At least seven cars parked outside the Borders at Shoppes at Grand Prairie waiting patiently for it to open. Two women, however, are standing out in the cold wind for five minutes, peering inside, hoping the employees take pity and open early. They do not.
OBSERVED — Two grown men all excited in the bank drive thru because the pretty-sounding teller gave them both suckers. They way to their hearts …
OBSERVED — Two Peoria police motorcycles at the corner of North Sheridan and West Main, one of the tearing off after a motorist who turned from west-bound Main north of Sheridan.
OVERHEARD — in Pekin, over the police scanner: “Are these turkeys … alive?”
There was no reply.
Observed & Tasted: Crusens on War Memorial has the best hot chicken wings I’ve ever had, and I’m a total obsessive about hot wings, I try them at almost every restaurant I visit.
My mom is 80 years old, very feeble. Her refrigerator started smoking. My brother who lives with her handled it well. Sears, the scumbags, wanted to install a new $300 part on this 11 year old fridge. Shermans wanted to charge $60 delivery fee. Lowes delivered a new refrigerator, no delivery charge, and no charge to haul away not only the old refrigerator, but an old clothes dryer in the basement. Sears SUCKS. Shermans SUCKS. Lowes rocks!!!

I was turning left onto West Main from northbound Sheridan. In my rear view mirror I see, not 1 or 2, but 3 taxis follow me into the intersection. All from different companies. Odd.
